Temiscaming Royals Recruiting Video

The Temiscaming Royals are pleased to announce that M.Randy Edmonds has joined the team and will be Director of hockey operations and associate coach. His main role will be player development, he will also share with coach McCharles the everyday business of running a successful Junior A hockey club. Randy is no stranger to coaching, with over 14 years of coaching experience in Sweden's first division and elite hockey leagues as well as Japan's elite league. He also operates the well known Eurocamp international hockey school based in North Bay. From the reaction of the people (fans) who were in attendance, I would say they were very happy to welcome Randy to the town and to the team.
The Royals also took the opportunity to announce the names of three players that have given their intention of playing for the team this season. Returning goaltender Jim Murray from Philadelphia. Also goalie Francis"the Kid" Bernard will be back with the Royals. Francis was part of the Royals when we were part of the GMHL. Defenceman Steven McGarry from Pennsylvania has also committed to the team. He played for a prep school last year.
Coach McCharles promises more players names in the coming weeks.

Also to be noted the Royals training camp has been extended a full 3 days. It will start as scheduled on Friday august 21 and continue until Wednesday August 26 incl. Details on the camp, cost and accomodations should be posted on the Royals website tonight or tomorrow.

Stay tuned for more news in the next weeks.

Royals Happy Hour...A success !
The talk of the town was Royals as the local Junior A team held a Happy Hour on thursday June 18th. The local residents were invited to visit the players dressing room and chat with Coach/G.M. Steve McCharles about the upcoming 2009-2010 season. One player took time off from his busy training schedule to pay a visit, Stephane Gunner, who brought his 2 year old brother Lucas along for the ride. Coffee and donuts were served as residents were renewing their season tickets. Over 100 season ticket holders took advantage of the opportunity to have their names entered in a draw that will be held on July 2. This is the deadline date for season ticket holders to renew their seats and by doing so, can win their tickets in the draw. The Royals fans were allowed to sit down in the player's individual stalls where all the game jerseys were hanging. The Royals will be starting off the season with new jerseys so both sets of jerseys from last year are presently on sale. A total of 18 were sold in the three hour period. If anyone is interested in buying one of the jerseys, please contact Denis Lacourse 819 627 9254 the cost is $80.00. Coach McCharles was very tight lipped about some news concerning the team but later said some major news involving the team would be available very shortly.
On Tuesday June 30th, the Royals will set-up on the patio at Brassette Temrose from 4pm for those who still have not renewed their tickets and also for those who wish to purchase season tickets for the first time.
